IP Relay ER02A
The IP Relay ER02a is a RS-232 / RS-485 serial line converter with two 230V-rated SPDT relays mounted on a DIN rail chassis. The contacts and the serial line can be controlled using the free HW VSP (virtual serial port) software, or using the documented M2M protocol. The communication protocol is based on Telnet and RFC2217 extensions.
HWg SDK gives examples, in several programming languages, of using IP Relay in your software and applications.
*NOTE - the AC Relay features of this product require connection wiring by a suitably licenced electrical worker.

IP Enabled Relay Applications
IP relay can be used as an ethernet or RS485/232 controlled power switch for access control systems, barcode readers, scales, RFID devices, scanners and cameras
M2M protocol
This product does not have a web interface The built-in relays are controled using NVT commands. This is a 7-byte sequence, which is sent to the opened TCP/IP connection and if accepted, it is confirmed with a similar 7-byte sequence sent back. This TCP connection is similar to the TP connection to the RS-232 port, but when using the NVT (which is a standard TELNET) the data from serial port are not interrupted when sending the commands. You can read more about NVT and our RFC2217 compatible extension on the Network Virtual Terminal page. Detailed list of relay's controling commands you can find in product manual.
